MJ Savala & Family Construction's ADU track record
We haven't found ADU permits under this company's name in the City of San Diego's open data. That's common when a designer or the homeowner pulls the permit, or when the work is in another city. Ask MJ Savala & Family Construction for addresses of ADUs they've finished.
Why they're listed as an ADU builder: ADU work described on its website.
Before you sign with MJ Savala & Family Construction
- Ask for the license number on the contract. It should read #1139632 and the business name should match MJ SAVALA & FAMILY CONSTRUCTION.
- Keep the deposit small. For home improvement contracts California caps the down payment at $1,000 or 10% of the price, whichever is less.
- Ask for a certificate of insurance. The state shows workers' comp with CONTINENTAL CASUALTY COMPANY; ask for general liability too.
- Make sure they pull the permit. The contractor, not you, should apply for the building permit, so the city holds them responsible for the work.
